The challenge in this project was creating a visual language that was both soft and cuddly, as it discusses stuffed animals, but also have it be mature enough for the target audience, that is ages 6-10.
Each chapter of the book tells us about a different mystery, so I wanted to create some suspense in my illustrations. I decided to give a lot of focus to the contrast between lights and shadows. I used a bright yellow to give the light a certain glow, avoiding using white as much as possible so that the yellow is the brightest color in each of the compositions.
