Hi! I'm Maya,
a freelance illustrator and animator, based in Utrecht.
I graduated from Visual Communication studies at Shenkar Collage of Design in 2021. Then, I worked as a full time animator at BrainPOP for 2 and a half years - until my relocation to the Netherlands in March 2024. Since then I have been working as a freelance illustrator and animator.
I specialize in digital and traditional illustration, 2d animation and storyboarding.
I love telling stories in my work, creating worlds full of details and patterns, humor and emotions.
My work often leans on the thin line between reality and fantasy, a combination of things that are possible and things that are not. I believe this is what animation is all about - going out of this world, into a place where everything is possible.
